In fact, the main focus here is not even on the hat, but on the sun. It shines as it peers into the jug — hot, tired. I can almost see this man finishing his drink, lowering the jug, rubbing his wet mustache with weary hands, squinting up at the sun, and smiling. He will then push his straw hat lower on his forehead and return to work. And in this moment there is such a simple joy, such a quiet gratitude. It feels as if nothing more is needed.
